These shoes were designed to meet the needs of the service industry professional. The challenge of this brief was to make a great looking service industry sneaker. I interviewed kitchen professionals and waitstaff to find out what they valued most in their work shoes. The fact that their workday is spent on their feet means that they expect all day comfort durability and versatile styling. Materials needed to be light yet durable. So I detailed breathable mesh reinforced with heat welded laminates in the high stress toe and eye-row areas. Multi surface, multidirectional outsole tread for all surface traction. Sneaker aesthetics made to for fast paced work environments. I’m really satisfied with the execution. The shoe doesn’t actually look like a “work shoe”. It looks like a sneaker with performance benefits that you don’t really notice until you’re on the job.
